Four Carmel United Players selected to attend U14 Girls National ID Camp in Portland, Oregon
Carmel, IN (August, 27 2010) Four Carmel United Soccer Club players were selected to attend the US Soccer Under 14 Girls’ National Identification Camp July 31-Aug 6, 2010 in Portland, Oregon as representatives of the Region II Olympic Development Program (ODP).
Reilly Martin (96 Elite), Samantha Kokoska (96 Elite), Katy Keen (96 Elite) and Josie Thurman (97 Elite) attended the camp as representatives of the Region II Olympic Development Program (ODP).
During the US Soccer National Identification Camp, the top female players in the country compete to be selected as one of the top 36 players selected to attend the U.S Soccer’s Under 14 National Training Camp September 18 – 25 in Carson, California. Josie Thurman was selected for the National Training Camp.
On behalf of Carmel United Soccer Club, congratulations to all the girls on their achievements this summer and we wish all four of them the best as they represent Region II at the Interregional tournament in Florida held November 20-26. We also wish Josie the best as she attends the National Team Camp in September.

Don Rawson named Exective Director-Director of Soccer Operations for Carmel United
Carmel, IN (June 24, 2010) Carmel United Soccer Club (CUSC) announced today that Donald R. Rawson, Jr. has been hired as Executive Director – Director of Soccer Operations. The Executive Director-Director of Soccer Operations is a role new to the organization and reflective of the rapid growth and success of CUSC. Rawson will focus on the long-term vision, growth and development of the organization from both a business and soccer perspective.
“We are delighted to have Don onboard,” said Dave Burkert, CUSC Board President. “Don brings an invaluable wealth of experience, both on and off the field. His leadership skills, vision and long-term involvement with youth soccer activities throughout Indiana and beyond will make him an asset in helping us reach our short and long-terms goals as being one of the most successful youth soccer clubs in the nation.”

NATIONAL CHAMPIONS IN AN ENCORE PERFORMANCE - Carmel United Claims Consecutive US Soccer Federation Crowns
Carmel, Indiana (July 16, 2009). Carmel United is the US Soccer Federation Men's Development Academy U17-18 National Champions. This is the most prestigious title in youth soccer as it is awarded by the US Soccer Federation, the governing body of the US Mens' and Womens' National Teams. Carmel United completed their seven match undefeated playoff run with a 1 - 0 victory against a strong and talented D.C. United team, which is part of the DC United MLS franchise. Carmel United is the first and only club in the nation to send 2 teams to the Development Academy National Championship game and is the only club to win 2 Development Academy National Championships. Congratulations to our magnificent players, Head Coach David Costa, Senior Boys Director of Coaching Joe Sochacki and Team Manager Bobbie White. As background information, Carmel United Soccer Club (a Nike Premier club) is Indiana's sole member of the US Soccer Federation Men's Development Academy (USSF Academy), which consists of 79 top clubs from around the nation. Carmel, Indiana (July 19, 2008). The Carmel United United States Soccer Federation (USSF) U16 Men's Developmental Academy team won the most prestigious national championship in Youth Soccer. Congratulations to all of the players, Coach of the Year David Costa, Coach Joe Sochacki, and team manager Bobbie White on Carmel United's 2nd National Championship.

Lauren Hyde, Former Member of Carmel United Cyclones National Championship Team, Named 2009 SEC Defensive Player of the Year
ORANGE BEACH, Alabama (November 3, 2009). ". . . Florida defender Lauren Hyde . . . headline[s] the 2009 Southeastern Conference Women's Soccer Awards announced Tuesday. . . . Hyde was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Year after leading a Gator defense that rated as one of the stingiest in the league. Florida shutout more than half (six of 11 games) of its league opponents and tied for the SEC lead by allowing just eight goals (0.73 goals per game) in conference play." Lauren was also named All-SEC 1st Team in 2006, 2007 and 2009. Congratulations, Lauren!
Lauren Cheney, Ex-Carmel United Star, Sparkles in "Gold"
Lauren Cheney (above center) was a member of the 2008 U.S. Women's National Team, which won the gold medal in Beijing, China. The United States defeated Brazil 1-0 in the gold medal game and Lauren was involved in the game winning goal. Shannon Boxx, who played 1 year for Carmel United, was also a member of the 18 member Olympic squad. Additionally, Lauren was named U.S. Soccer's Young Female Athlete of the Year for 2007, which is Lauren's fifth major national award. Lauren was also named the 2007 Soccer America College Women's Player of the Year, the Soccer Buzz 2007 Women's College Player of the Year, and the Top Drawer Soccer National Player of the Year for 2007. Lauren was the Soccer Buzz National Freshman of the Year in 2006.
