Dear Parents,
There are three CUSC Board of Director positions coming up for vote in January, 2011. Several people have requested additional information regarding these positions. Having been a member of this club since 1996, there has been great progress made in the development of the Club including, but not limited to player development, and the achievement of multiple state and
regional champions and three national titles. Likewise, our club has expanded to over 45 plus teams and 700 players. The majority of Board discussions and decisions involve issues impacting the entire club.
As the Club has transitioned over the years our Board has developed into having "functional directors" that have certain areas of experience and backgrounds. These functional areas of expertise for the Board include:
Accounting (CPA)
Law (J.D.)
Risk Management
Human Resources
Sales and Marketing
Fundraising Oversight for other not-for-profit organizations
Facilities and Land Acquisition
The functional areas of expertise needed for the 2012 Board of Directors include openings in several of these areas. It should be pointed out that if we do not elect functional area experts, Carmel United will have to pay outside consultants at market rates for such expenses resulting in increased tuition expenses.
If you have any of the aforementioned functional areas of expertise and background and have an interest in seeking a CUSC Board of Director position, please send me an email expressing your interest and a copy of your current resume no later than December 24, 2011.
The next step will include an in-person discussion with a three-person panel composed of Board members. During these discussions, the candidates will have the opportunity to answer questions about their background and their interest in serving the Club as a board member. They will also learn more about the responsibilities and duties of a board member. These discussions will last from 30 to 45 minutes and will be conducted during the first week of January, 2012 during the evening hours. At the January, 2012 Operating Committee meeting, candidates will be presented for vote.
