Indiana United's Soto Named Finalist for Sueno MLS

April 20, 2011 (Carmel, Indiana) - Christian Soto has had the odds stacked against him many times in his soccer career, but competing to be one of 5 players chosen from a pool of 400 for the MLS Sueno Program finals was one huge hurdle to climb.

Soto (formerly of Hoosier F.C.) who has been with Carmel United / Indiana United for the last two years was in Chicago this weekend for the fifth annual tryout for the prestigious program. 400 players were on hand Saturday for training sessions and that number was trimmed down to 30 by night's end. Soto, who is a central midfielder for Indiana United and attends Center Grove High Schoo,l was one of the fortunate few from all over the Midwest to move on to Sunday's training.

On Sunday, the group had more training in an effort to determine the final five players who would advance to Dallas with hopes of securing a contract with an MLS franchise. Soto was masterful in the middle of the field contributing 2 assists while leading his team to a 5-2 victory.

Soto credits much of the success to his coaches both at Hoosier FC and Indiana United, as well as, his many teammates both at Center Grove and Indiana United. He gave special thanks to his family and the support they have given him throughout his soccer career.

Soto now travels to Dallas May 5-8, 2011 for the final event, culminating with an announcement of the 2011 winner on Univision Network’s República Deportiva. For more information, click here.
