The teams will travel by plane or bus and be paired in groups of four to a room Each meal will be set up for the players by the Administrative Staff and the boys will have three meals a day on the road.
How does this cost compare to other Carmel Teams in the past? In the past the U16 and U18 Teams have attended Disney, Ohio Elite, Metro and Vegas Showcases as well as playing in our own Crossroads of American Showcase. The teams participated in the MRL and played in the Murray and the State Cup. If you look at the cost of Disney 2,000.00 for the family, Ohio Elite 400 for the family, Metro 500 for the family, Vegas 1750.00 for the family, you come to a total of 4,650.00. The MRL usually takes you away for two weekends at a cost of 500 a trip adding 1000.00 to your cost. This takes you to 5,650.00 add indoor fees of 200.00 and 700.00 for senior boys fees and you hit the 6,550.00 mark. These figures don’t take into consideration application fees to the Murray, Crossroads, MRL, nor do they take referee fees for the MRL. To the 6,550.00 add a 400.00 miscellaneous fee and you come to a very conservative 6,950.00 cost.
These figures are based on a family of two staying at a hotel with an average cost of 100.00 per night. The flights for Disney and Vegas are in between 400 and 500 round trip.
How will tryouts be handled? The players will be asked to come in their own USYSA age groups on the 21st (please check the site to verify appropriate tryout times and dates) and then broken into pools of 30 players for the next two tryout sessions. It is the clubs intention to take 24 players for each team and those teams will be finalized on the 28th.
What is the cut off date for the age groups? The US Developmental Academy goes with the International cut off date instead of the August 1st date USYSA has made us accustom to. Therefore the U-16 age cut off is January 1st 1992 and the U-18 cut off date is January 1st 1990.
Who will be coaching the teams? U-16 Developmental Academy Isang Jacob who is an Assistant Principal at Warren Central High School, Isang also serves as Warren's Head Soccer Coach. Isang has also coached in college at IUPUI. As a player he played professionally for the Indiana Blast & Houston Force. U-18 Developmental Academy David Costa who is an Assistant at Butler University, David spearheads the recruiting for the Bulldogs as well as contributes to the day to day management of the training and academic aspects of College Soccer.
